Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe attended a special discussion with the members of the Committee of Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament during his visit to Brussels.
Chair of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament Elmar Brok engaged in discussions with the Prime Minister on the future of SAARC , reconciliation in Sri Lanka, economic development, eradication of poverty and good governance.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also called on the Prime Minister of Malta. Joseph Muscat , who is tipped to be the next President of the European Union. The Maltese Prime Minister had assured Prime Minister Wickremesinghe of his complete support to regain the GSP Plus concessions.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and the Lankan delegation also met with the business community in Brussels. The business community had expressed their full support to help Sri Lanka regain the GSP Plus concessions and to improve investments in Sri Lanka.
