Former CBSL governor leaves the island

Speaking in Parliament UPFA Rathnapura District Parliamentarian Ranjith de Zoysa said that the Former Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Arjuna Mahendran has left the country.

The MP said that the former governor had left the island in the backdrop of the COPE report into the central bank bond issue being presented to parliament tomorrow.

De Zoysa added that Sri Lanka does not have the power to impound the passport of a foreign citizen.

Meanwhile, the controller of immigration and emigration at the Bandaranaike International Airport said that Former central bank governor Arjuna Mahendran had left the island on a flight bound to Singapore.
